What is Cranial Sacral Therapy?

This gentle hands on therapy focuses in observing the internal rhythms of the body and nervous system.  With light pressure, ("about the weight of a nickel") the tension is able to unwind and the nervous system can find new patterns of flow to improve function.

What is Reiki?

Is a powerful form of hands-on energy medicine that channels the universal energy (chi, prana, etc...) to support relaxation, balance and healing.  A key tenant of Naturopathic Medicine is nurturing the "the vis" or the "healing power of nature" within each of us.  Reiki is a great tool that aligns perfectly with naturopathic approaches.

Why am I offering these therapies?

Cranial Sacral Therapy and Reiki are two of the best tools out there for regulating the nervous system.  With gentle hands-on touch, the body and the nervous system are supported to unwind, release held patterns of tension and find new - more functional - pathways for leading to improved healing, balance and resiliency.

Over my many years of practice I have observed some patterns. One big one is that imbalance and dysfunction of the nervous system is a key player in many people's symptom picture. It is often unaddressed, or inadequately addressed and ultimately, becomes a stumbling block for feeling better.  I'm so excited to finally be able to offer this key service in-house as a way to further support each of you in your health and wellbeing.  

My Approach:

I received most of my training for Cranial Sacral and Reiki Therapy during my naturopathic medicine education back in 2012. I've wielded these tools on and offer over the intervening years, and I have gained rich experience with these powerful modalities. Generally, I will employ a blend of both in our session.  I commonly use the key "listening stations" of cranial sacral work to get attuned to your body and the energetic patterns present.  I will then bring in Reiki to help shift or unwind observed patterns.  As both therapies work with the subtle energies of the body they are highly compatible and well tolerated by most people.
